FYI: Katy track closed for a few weeks due to construction

Drove all the way out there on Friday just to be turned away.... DOH. Need to check the website more often.

http://www.racekarts.com/

Please note that the track will be closed for construction of hte new building over the hot pit area starting next Thursday March 24th.

The building material is expected to be delivered next Thursday the 24th. Due to the nature of the construction and for safety reasons, the track will be closed from the 24th until construction is completed. It is expected to take two to three weeks to complete. We will post notice when the opening is near.

Thank you,
Paul Jones

Track is back up as of April 10th.

"We have competed the building and paving! The track will be open starting Sunday April 10th. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE TO BE NO VEHICLES IN THE BUILDING, NO PITTING AND NO REFUELING IN THE BUILDING. THIS IS BECAUSE THE NEW ASPHALT IS STILL CURING. Please use caution as it is still temporary until the fences get put up. Thank you for your cooperation."

pit area is great. Tons of shade. It seems like they did some patch work on the track as well.. that long left turn before the straight now is pretty rumble-y on the inside.

You think the track will be okay to ride by Friday with all the recent rain?

I drove by the track today on the way home. The road was under water and it looked like the track might be too.

I just drove by. The road is still underwater on the east and west side of the road. Pretty sure the track is under water.
