Byrdman and Friends do Big Bend

As the title states myself and a couple of other goons were finally able to ride out to Big Bend National Park. This was 6 months in the making to make sure we had reservations, no schedule conflicts, proper gear and bikes. There was 10 total and it was an absolute blast! The weather was awesome but the temperature was a roller-coaster. Temps ranged from 39F to 102F all in 6 days time. We camped at Kickapoo Caverns for 1 night, Rio Grande Village for 3 nights, Chisos Mtns for 1night and stayed at this pimp house in Terlingua for the last night. All in all total mileage was a little of 2200 miles in 6 days. We rode a lot of offroad in Big Bend with some street mixed in from Terlingua to Presidio which was insane!

Not nearly all the pics we took but just a taste. We drank a lot of beer and rode a lot of miles. Was probably the best mototrip I've ever had. Can't wait for the next one!!

I rode my Triumph Tiger on this trip and it is the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. Even more comfortable than cruisers. I put an Airhawk seat cushion, some bar risers, and a taller windscreen on there and I can ride all day. We rode all the way back to Houston in 1 day which was over 600 miles and I felt fine by the time I got back.

I would seriously consider an adventure bike, u can do more with it than a sport tourer. I love my 1190, we rocked the 3 sisters loaded down with all our gear, must have been 80# worth in the most awkward positions and we were killing it! I'm actually going to do a track day soon on it as well once I swap back to street tires.
The 1190 can stand for an upgraded seat or airhawk as my but was hurting after 6 straight days of riding.

I've been looking pretty hard at the new Africa Twins, but waiting to see when this economy is going to improve before I make any new purchases.
Hopefully that'll happen sooner than later.
Jones'n for another big bike.

Yeah that AT&T does look promising. I'm just a sucker for Orange and the ridiculous power their bikes put out. The AT will be a lot better off road with the 21" front rim as the BMW F800GS were a lot more stable off road than my 1190 with a 19" front. But I ride more street than dirt and want to do some track days on this beast so it suits me well.

TMAX the ride isn't bad at all, once u get on Hwy 90 the riding is a lot better than I10. It's very scenic and it will keep u entertained. U have to get out there sooner than later it's amazing.
