Sun. 4/3 Ride Along...Buc-ees Waller....

11 am sharp start time...Buc-ees at hwy 290 and fm 362....this is a spirited pace ride...not newbie or beginner friendly...pace will be double posted speeds in corners +...this will not be a high speed in straights (well at least not continual)...make sure your skill level is proper for this ride...proper gear required...helmet, jacket, gloves and long pants...further questions PM me for my number

Ride at your own risk...you are responsible for your own actions...

Double posted speed in corners is "spirited" for sportbikes? Not ragging on your thread Keith but really curious as typically I do that or better in TX with full knobbies and/or fully loaded with luggage/camping gear for adventure trips. Other states however you need to pay closer attention to posted corner speeds but TX DOT rates corner speed for buses and 18 wheelers.

You'd be amazed at the number of people that show up for group rides with a moderate or spirited pace that aren't comfortable with double posted.

Yep I know. First one of these rides I attended put a sumo on the ground at practically the first corner and he was at the rear of pack doing way under 2X speeds.

I did miss the "+" at the end of Keith's sentence so all makes sense to me now. No reason to advertise actual speeds. I do know some of the borc types on other rides routinely do 3X+ speeds is why I questioned in the first place. This is a dirt bike weekend for me and the kid otherwise I would be considering a bluebonnet tour.

Considering it, if I can get someone to tag along with me from this side of town. I'm not gonna' pound slab the whole way there. If anyone is on the south side of town and wants to head out 1462/cow creek/crabb river/etc to get there, then let me know and I'll lead the way.

Well after last week, I will not be joining this Sunday. Not due to lack of desire but lack of bike. After my mishap, my bike was totaled. Broke part of the frame. Hard to believe but I think my bike cartwheeled. As for me, I did not have a scratch on me, just a tight and sore tricep.

Thank for soft grass, mud and protection gear. I have taken that turn many times at faster speeds but a lapse in judgement is always around, or in my case during a corner.

I need a new bike. New Valkyrie, BMW GTL without top case, Ducate xDiavel? So many choices.

Thanks for your concern during the event. I really appreciated all the help I received from you and the group. After the accident, I just wanted to be home. I got help getting the bike up on the road that I really appreciated. And thank for the guy that found my glasses. I was very fortuneate to be with you guys and look forward to future rides where I will probably volunteer to be the trailer.

unless silver bullet is referring to 10-15mph marked turns on an enduro.

PLEASE LET ME FOLLOW YOU AT 105MPH THROUGH A 45MPH MARKED TURN, JUST MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR KNOBBIES.

You've ridden 3090 "with full knobbies and/or fully loaded with luggage/camping gear for adventure trips" at more than double the recommended posted turn speed on entry?

I loved the bit about guys routinely doing triple posted. I'd love to see someone hit a 45mph marked turn at 135mph entry speed, lol.

Because if you don't own and aren't wearing proper gear, then it's incredibly likely that you're a stupid squid who is gonna everything up for everyone. At least in my eyes, it's more of a litmus test for people I don't know. If I have a friend who likes to ride in tennis shoes and jeans with no knee protection and a light mesh jacket, but I know he's not a squid, then fine. But if a random shows up for a ride like that, I'm sending him home. That's just me--I am not Morgstang
