you see thats a nice responce even though we dont know if he doesnt know what back brake control is. this could help him alot more than puting the guy down.

I like how threads start off by saying I upgrading to a 1000. You should have learned to power wheelie ur 600 and carry the concept over. Makes it less scary.

i didnt put him down, i thought it was a funny question, and im pretty sure if hes pow pow power wheelieng instead of clutching, he has no back brake control in a wheelie, stick to 2nd and 3rd, those gears are mainly throttle, then cover the back brakes just incase you go past bp(balnce point)

always clutch, and yea it should be easy to ride, ill ride with you sometime and show you the basic concept, once you get to bp it will float with minimal throttle adjustment

fine. how to power wheelie coming from me who has wrecked the out of a bike power wheely-ing

throttle, dump throttle to load front suspension, throttle...then lightly reduce throttle (don't chomp it)...start slowly...build up...and put it in 2nd, cuz first will come up really quickly.

also practice near a hospital and with video cameras present.

i hope this helps, be safe out there.

When I learned to power wheelie my 600, I would go about 30 in 1st and then whomp the throttle about 1/2 way and would pop up a little. Another easy thing to do is go up to about 25mph and then gradually take off and pull the throttle farther until you are about more the 3/4th back

give it gas, and alot of it in first, when the wheel gets up let go of the gas until you get used to the front end getting weightless, then start learning to clutch up after you learn how to save you with the back brakes

Bounce that up Duck...

...i miss my dirtbike...

anyhow, a good thing to remember is cover the brake, just don't use it too hard, most of the time if you de-throttle it will start coming down.

also do not panic...

wear all of your gear...

and, motocross is on tv so you be safe as i watch some real racing...
