Hey guys just a piece of advice if u EVER get pulled over especially if u think u might go to jail then turn the bike off but do not lock the bars and PUT the key in your pocket, NEVER give to the wrecker driver, they do not need it to load and unload the bike it is not a car, at least they can not be out ridin ur , they can still drop but at least they cant ride it, unless they break the ignition and that would be BAD. I,ve seen this before, really sucks man, Fuggin bastards.:BangHead:

coming from a current wrecker driver, you cant really rely on the tow slips cause the officer is always the one to fill it out. sometimes they let the wrecker driver do it and if there is no damage, 9 times out of ten they will write something vaige like mior all over just to cover there during the tow.

the "wrecker inspectors" is Auto dealers but good luck with them also.

There are 3? I have the goldenrod HPD copy. You said the impound lot does one, is it required by law that they do one? Whats the 3rd one? The tow truck driver?

oh and the damage reports (i.e. tow slips) the lazy storage lot attendant will generally copy the police slip that could have been filled out by the wrecker driver and signed by the cop...so ya they could all be the same

I believe the officer filled out the slip, looks like one kind of handwriting on all the important stuff up top and the tow truck driver filled out the bottom half with his info.

i had the same thing happen on beltway8, but they picked it up on a flatbed. they used regular straps to hold it down and when he tightened on it he tore the grip and knocked the turn signal button lose from the bars. i also had the stock front blinkers on my cbr and the left one was just dangeling. When i got there he told me the same thing" it was like that buddy, you cant put that on me" so i called the dps office and the same trooper that pulled me over came by and talked to the guy, i got about 250 to fix it from him. but its still messed up that he broke my stuff then tried to deny it.

No, its different hand writing, it looks like the officer filled it out, and the tow truck driver filled out the wrecker info.

It was city. The tow slip says they picked the bike up at 11:45. They charged me for 5 days, Thrus-Mon. I think thats kinda bull seeings it was just about Friday when they got it.. But what ever, I paied the full amount. I just wanted to get my baby out of the impound and back home. Then came find that they beat her up
Left it out in the rain in everything..

Max...there are some tiny grooves on the tail section (1st pic) that suggest the bike was not dropped at a stand still. Looks exactly like rash does... sorry to hear 'bout it.

Haha! It was two cops, they seemed like they were good guys. I'm going to give their substation a call tonight (they work the 3rd/night shift) and see if they will meet with me and check out the damage. It would be great if I can get them to vouch for me.

Absolutely! I've rashed up a plenty of plastics to know whats what
It had to have slid on asphalt or concrete to do such damage.

You're SOL...next time tell them that you are having a friend come to pick it up. If they are cool about it, then they will allow it. Oh that and take care of your legal obligations.
