Picked up a new toy

I traded my motard for a 2008 Honda CBR1000RR. It came with some extra Track plastics bit nothing for the street. It has a clean title so it may have to see a little street duty if I can find some fairings. It has AK20 cartridges in front and an Elka out back. I know they aren't the fastest liter bikes bUT it should be plenty for me to ride at Track days and more than enough for the street. I need to pick up the standard goodies like a powered commander and quick shifter. I'm told the z bomb is a good add in from a friend. Knowing me it won't be around long so I'm hoping to get it out to MSRH soon. It was about time I owned a Honda I guess. I've owned just about every brand up till now.

This is my fourth liter bike for the track. It will be a nice counter point to my sv650's though.

With GSS not really an option any more the yz450 didn't get ridden too much. I still have the Husqvarna 610.

I had the same exact bike. Burned more oil than gas. Not a big deal on the track. Just top it up before you throw a leg over. Congrats.

No one said that, but according to ek, you believe it's a myth. It's too well documented to be a myth.

It's a myth that most 2008 CBR1000RRs consumed excessive amounts of oil

I know the previous owner of this bike fairly well and trust him to be honest. He says that he has never had any problems with oil consumption.

As do I. Yes, I had one.

Although I never went 5K miles between oil changes, more like 1K or 500 if I did any putting around the track.

I had the same bike. White 08 CBR1000RR. Mine burned it and leaked. I liked the ride and the look.

EK, I wish I could let go of my bikes as easy as you. By far you are the guy I know whom has more bikes coming and going. I don't have any problem purchasing them but I do have a big problem selling them... any tips?
