Need an Opinion

Alright all you gun guys and gals out there. I finally got to shoot my first hand gun over the weekend, (myself i've always been a rifle guy) so when it comes to hand guns i don't have a clue... I'm looking for a 9mm mostly for home protection and to go to the range with. What would be some good suggestions on which ones to look into... Right now i'm looking into a Smith and Wesson sigma 9mm, good or no? just looking for some input thanks.

best home protection is a pump shotgun. someone kicking in your door, everyone recognizes the sound of a round being chambered.

As far as getting a handgun to carry, get something subcompact. I LOVE my glock 23 .40 Cal. Give me a call and we'll go to the range and shoot it

I just picked up a Springfield XD .40 sub-compact, I like it. I am not carrying it yet, but i tried it out at home and it does not seem to bad. But I have nothing to compair it too.

I like the USP 45. I like to feel some recoil.

so in other words, auto and semi-auto are in the same field, and a revolver you would have to get a different permit for?

Check out the H&K .40 or .45, and Sig makes great .40's and .45's. Glocks are for..... how do I put this, would you buy a Katana to ride? If you don't know what you're doing, you are more likely to AD a pistol with no visable hammer. But if you have the cash, I'd suggest a Colt Gold Cup .45, or maybe a Kimber.
