Road rash HURTS!

I was on my mountain bike this morning and started accelerating standing up. Next thing I know a bolt fails the pedal snaps and I fly forward towards the asphalt (highside). I only have a little (4" x 3") rash on my forearm by my elbow and some tiny spots on my little toe and under my big toe on one foot. It didn't hurt at all until I got home and washed it...holy sh*t; I was in shock! I put some antibiotic ointment on it after cleaning and now it feels like it is trying to pull together.

OUCH!

It was one of the neighbors...an old man that was slightly cracking a smile. I thought to myself that must have been really funny to watch. I said "no thanks, I'm alright, I just live a couple houses away" and started walking with my broken POS bike back to my house as quick as can be.

After cleaning the wound much better it is much smaller than I thought lol. I'm a wuss :laughing6

Now I'm sitting here looking for a new bike...

Well at least it was an old man. lol

I was at the anthills 2 years ago and stopped to tie my shoe. I tried to do the old quarter crank rotation while swinging your leg over the seat mount to get going again, but my hand hit the shifter on accident. So all my weight was on the left peddle, right leg still in the air and the chain skips as it tried to shift. Left foot hits the ground, hit the top bar, rear wheel then runs over my left foot and drags me off the bike and underneath it. Oof. As I'm laying on my back, the cutest girl ever rides by in the opposite direction and half smiles and half giggles at me as she passes. She saw the whole thing. :BangHead::BangHead:

I was embarrassed and in love at the same time. :laughing6

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

It's probably an amusing sight. Sorry.

I've watched it a bit this year. I try to watch it ever other year, but never can get it to it. This year I'm totally into it. Those dudes are hauling with no gear except a funky little helmet. lol I didn't know, but they have had guys die in the race before. The last one was in 1994.

I'd have to gear up in stead of wearing the ***gy tights. No offense to the ***gy tights wearers, or those who like tight ***gys.
