Re: Looking For A Bike

you'll find something around that range, don't worry. Just don't rush into the first bike you see, something will come your way.

If things dont start going right at the house I may have the bike that I just bought up for sale :(

Why you do not try to save $500 a month..??? In 6 months it will be $3000 + $1500 = $5000...!!!! Open a savings account, deposit the $1500 and forget about it, then each month deposit $500 and forget about it...!!! Also the savings account will help you build credit.

how do they get away with that? Every dealership I went to needs 2 years of solid payments and credit cards. And Yamaha.....gotta be Bill Gates for christ sakes for them to sell you a bike haha. I have no credit and I am going to wait to have all the cold hard cash but still, how do they do it?

^^^^^^^^^^^^

Thats not true, for 1500 dollars he could find a 1992 custom non-banana yellow Katana 600

If you want it let me know. I have pics of it in the "Post your Pics" section.

+1

and if $1500 is all you can scrape together, I guess you can't afford the down payment on insurance and what happened to gear? maintenance, etc, etc.... In reality thats about what you need AFTER you get the bike.

Take Zapata's advice; you said you can already make $400-600/mo payments, make that to the savings account. When you got 5G's in the bank then start bike shopping. Set your maximum at $4G for the bike and the rest toward your first month insurance premium, gear, any MINOR things the bike may not have that you need (ie frame sliders, chain lube, shop manual, etc) In approx. 7 months it will be around February, if you start saving now (off peak riding season) you can get the bike you want at a good price.
