Firstgear Kili Lo Boots: Big fat nope

I bought these boots through Tucker Rocky, and in two weeks I have gone through two pairs of them. They are advertised here in the top right corner.

The biggest problem is they do not loosen sufficiently enough around the foot to pull them off. As a result, the cheap nylon loops the laces thread through will pop after a few, and while your boot will still secure around your ankle, you're still wearing a busted pair of $119 shoes. This happened within a week of my first pair (thankfully they have a five year warranty), and then again within a week of my second pair. Rather than get a new pair every week, I'm canceling these boots for something else. (Recommendations, anyone?)

Second, lesser critique: yes, they are comfortable to wear even when not riding, but not for longer than a few hours. The windproofing means your foot gets no air all day. After a few days stink foot will inevitably fill whatever place you eventually store your boots in.

Still more interested in the ankle shoe than the shin boot. Thoughts?

Once you get popped with a stone in the shin, or bust your leg on the rearset/peg.....you might steer away from shorty boots. Thats just my opinion
