Ravens cornerback Tray Walker in critical condition after Miami crash

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker, 23, was injured in a Thursday night crash in Northwest Miami-Dade, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Walker was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is in critical condition after suffering head trauma.

Walker's sister Shalonda Martin said that her brother underwent surgery following the crash.

"Right now we need prayer," Martin said.

The crash happened at about 8 p.m. on Northwest 75th Street and Northwest 21st Avenue, police said. Walker is said to have been clipped by an SUV.

Walker was wearing dark clothing at the time of the crash, according to police.

Miami-Dade police are investigating.

Meanwhile, sources tell Local 10 News that investigators are looking for a member of the New England Patriots who may have witnessed the crash.

"Oh my . This is devastating news," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. "Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight."

The Ravens tweeted Harbaugh's statement along with a tweet of their own that said their thoughts and prayers are with "Tray and his family."

The team also retweeted posts from Walkers' teammates who were quick to send out positive messages.

"Tray was like a brother to me. Hearing some news like this hurts my heart," cornerback Julian Wilson tweeted. "I know Tray's a fighter & he's going to pull through. Love ya!"

Echoing those thoughts, Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman tweeted that he is "Constantly praying for my brother Tray!!! He will pull through! Trust and believe!! Luv bruh luv!"

Ravens wide receiver, and South Florida native, Kamar Aiken took to Twitter ask for prayers for his teammate, as did defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore, who tweeted the hashtag "#prayfortray."

Walker was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He was born in Miami and attended Miami Northwestern Senior High School.
