ninja ex250 clutch question

All previous bikes I have ridden have their engines stall and die out when stalled and the clutch handle is fully released.

My ninja ex250 does not die out when the clutch is released in first gear, is there something I should worry about?

There is also a ticking noise with the engine. The engine is 10k+ miles

It's possible that you have the clutch freeplay incorrectly adjusted and it's allowing the clutch to slip.

I had a cbr250 do this to me. I would put it in first and it didn't even want to move. Loosened the cable a little bit and I got the clutch to engage. Previous owner cranked in tight so it was like the clutch was always disengaged. Probably why I got the bike so cheap
