I served for 7 years in the Army....... oops, wrong kind of vet!

Seriously though, there's a vet on Kuykendal between Spring Cypress and 2920, I believe they're open 24-7, hope your puppy gets to feeling better.

if its been over a week take him in. We had a pup once that limped for a few days, he need to be in a full leg cast for a few weeks, he learned to walk with it and got use to the stiff leg, when we took it off he would still walk with a stiff leg for a few days till he relized he could move it again, it was funny.

I used to work as a vet tech once. It could be that he just bumped his leg or it is something more serious. Try to move each joint separately and see which one really hurts. If he whines really bad, it could be serious. Also, is it hot?

Make sure the bump is not a thorn and there is nothing poking him in the paw.

Also, check for any wounds he may have. Even a thorn that is as thin as a needle can cause nasty infections down to the bone.

it is not in his paw or ankle but about 2-3 inches up his leg. he will let me touch it but pulls back and dont see any kinds of cuts or anything and doesnt feel hot:eh:

a snake bite on a puppy would be way worse than a lump and limping, maybe a spider though

My uncle works at VCA Spring Branch Animal Hospital. They are awesome, they saved my dog a few years back when he had parvo virus. He was about to die and was hospitalized for a few days with IV fluids. I've always taken all my dogs to them in the past (I no longer own any animals) and have always been more than pleased with the way they have treated my pets.

and I just saw they have a $30 off for new clients on their website www.vcaspringbranch.com

good luck!

not really. O have seen a cat get bit by a snake. It all depends on the animals reaction to the bite and what kind of snake.

We can all sit here and through out ideas, but what you need to do is just take the hit and take him to the vet to find out what is REALLY wrong with him.

with my experience with snakes(i love em, owned alot of em) if its any type of venomous snake the reaction is really bad in young dogs(unfortunately know this from experience too) it will drop them extremely quickly
