I got a buddy looking to start riding and someone tried to tell him to atleast get a 600 and i told him "yeah if you want to break your neck". People underestimate the power of these bikes and pay the consequences.

I let my ex ride my Ruckus once and she ran into a mailbox trying to turn around in the cul-de-sac.
Didn't think it was possible to wreck a scooter, but some people just have zero coordination and tend to freeze up when they panic.
Won't make that mistake again.

I'd never let any of my friend's ride my bikes unless I knew they were experienced and mature riders with full gear.
I don't see a gixxah listed under your avatar either. Coincidence?

No, not necessarily a good thing. Imagine if you would have been scared away from motorcycles before you started riding. I absolutely agree with taking it serious, but bad for our sport/hobby/shops to not have new riders coming up. While I don't have facts to run my mouth, I envision people close to the deceased etc. blaming the bike and not the lack of proper training. I've been riding for 20+ years and still get the "bikes Kill" comments.

Same here. I just look them in the eye and say "my best friend's mom died in a suburban".

But......you must respect the machine, no matter what it is.
