Any skateboarders?

Any skateboarders around?

My cousin is coming in town and he wanted to go to one of the skate parks. I know there is southside and vans skate park. Is one of them better then the other? I dont know about skateboarding.

Also he said he needed to buy something for his skateboard I dont remember what he said. Any skateboard shops on the southeast side of town?

i dont' think the vans park is open any more.

and from what i remember, the southside skate park was kinda shitty. and houston's street skating is ghey.

i was a skater when i first moved over here from california. the weather, the scene, is enough to make anybody quit.

Southside is the best place you can go to skate. There are some free parks around. And dirtwood is more for bikes than anything, the floor is kinda rough.

Call my brother, he was two spots away from going to the x-games and is friends with more than a few of the pro's. He'll hook it up and probably get him free stuff too.

Call me at 713 884 0939 and I'll give you his information.

Please explain yourself House of Pain. Is the lack of Hou. street skating make it ghey as you say? And yes we all know the weather here is rainy/hot. But what is wrong with the scene? Or is it the lack of popularity compared to Cali? Please explain.

lack of popularity, lack of rails and curbing (how do you grind on curved curbing? it's more of a roll), not many flights of stairs to come down, heat, humidity, everything is too far spread apart.

in cali, we had MANY stairs and rails, weather was great, all the curbs in every area were always waxed and ready to grind, you can skate anywhere (distance, not legally), there was always people out and ready to skate any time of day/night, downtown was a GREAT place to skate during the weekends.

here, everything is flat, hot, and spread apart. (flat meaning, the whole city, which in turn means, not too many flights of stairs to challenge yourself with)
