Cycle gear on 45 south can lick my

cuz that was the last time I go there. Lonnie never treated me nasty and was always up front. But this other guy me good.
10am on a weekday I bring my 17" wheel off the bike, into the store and ask if they can swap out my new tire (ordered online cuz they didn't have this size in stock, Supermoto problems) he said sure and took it into the back and starts working on it. After 10 mins he comes out from the back and says "how much do you usually pay?" I told him 25-30$ which he replayed "nah, it's 50$ today." I paid in cash.
So I paid the guy and waited another 40 mins for my wheel to be finished. The did not take good care of my expensive rims.
that guy! Ihyih

I would think they would have one set price for mount/balance.

How bad is the wheel? and did they screw up the bead on the tire trying to get it on?

They probably do have a set price. Guy was probably needing some extra cash. Or it costs extra to screw up your rim now days.....

When he said that it would be $50, that would be a cue to simply say "no thanks", and leave.

Am I missing something?

Lonnie is the bomb. He's the only reason I go to CG at all, especially after I've seen CG employees (and managers) act extremely unprofessionally time and time again.

Yeah, Lonnie is the only guy I'll deal with. I waited 30 min until he was done with another customer Saturday to buy a sena 10c.

He had my wheel already in the machine with my old tire off. I didn't want to cause a seen so I told him that's and here's the cash.
Two chips on the edge of the hoop (I can't prove that he did it as I did not inspect the rim before hand) but the weights he removed could have been cleaned off as I paid 50$ when I could have drove a few extra miles and had chad do it for some good beers.
Lesson learned

We live and we learn... that sounded like a shady deal. Hope your rim doesn't look too messed up.

another member paid $50 per tire at a different location, three weeks ago. Sounds like that is their going rate.
