Photo Gallery: MotoGP Phillip Island Pre-Season Test

As usual, Mother Nature was fickle at Phillip Island. And while it wasn't the full-three days of testing everyone was hoping for, the MotoGP regulars did get some work done. As the clock winds down to the season opener, March 20, every lit bit counts with just one final official pre-season test at Qatar, March 2.

In addition to its unpredictable weather, Phillip Island is also known for its scenic backdrop. Here's a look back at the test in photos.

Maverick Vinales (25) set the fastest time of the three-day test on day two. Even Marc Marquez couldn't catch him.

When the sun shines at Phillip Island, there's no place like it. Valentino Rossi was happy for some of that Summer weather even if it was just for one day. "In the end we only had one good day and that was yesterday," Rossi said after the final day. "But itís better than nothing. I feel good with the bike and with the tires and my pace was not so bad, so Iím quite satisfied."

Although Marc Marquez was just shy of the top spot overall, the Repsol Honda man was happy to find some comfort on the new bike.

Although Andrea Iannone was positive about the progress made, the Italian stressed the importance of the next official test at Qatar. "Even though I am not entirely satisfied with my final position [10th], I am pleased with the work that we have done and the steps forward we managed to make," . We still have to improve however and we expect more, so the next tests in Qatar will be really important.Ē

Aleix Espargaro continued to struggle in Phillip Island. "We tried many different things on the bike, in geometry and electronics, but unfortunately my feeling didnít change so much," Espargaro said. "Despite this I tried to push as hard as I could, this is also why I crashed twice, but honestly the result is that I want to clear my mind from this test and think ahead to Qatar."
