sorry let me clarify. I wanted to find some for sale boards where most of the people are racers. I tend to find better deal/better bikes on racer boards rather than these bling blinidy bikes on ebay.

I would like a bike that is built as a track bike, but has the ability for me to make it street legal once a year to pass inspection.

i guess i just want to find a used bike with some goodies on it, maybe buitl suspension something besides just a slipon.

I got mine off CMRA but my experience was that a lot of the bikes for sale are race bikes, not street legal. Also it seemed like alot of them had no title.
I wanted a bike with a clear title so I had to shop for a while.

cmra and wera are about good as it gets.

I could care less about the title as long as it had one. It was gonna get ragged out anyway and I didn't buy it to sell at a profit. My bike has a salvage title but it was never wrecked. Someone stole it and took off all the plastics, and the insurance co decided to total the bike.

I don't know why you guys are so concerned with a "clear" title. If it's a track bike, you can't settle for a salvaged title. Most of the time these insurance companies are totalling bikes out that are far from "totalled". OEM plastics are expensive, that alone can probably total out these bikes.:eh:

Let me clarify,
A clear title is one that has no liens against it.
A salvage title is issued on a vehicle that is fixable, but an insurance company has decided it is too expensive to fix.
My bike has a salvage title, what I was refering to is that many of the bikes you find on the racer forums have no title at all. The sellers will say that a bill of sale is good enough. It wasn't good enough for me.
Now I know that there are no hidden claims against my bike and that it is free and clear MY BIKE.
