This is the most recent news on their site:

2007-07-07 - 13:30:00

Hi everyone, just a few words to let you know whatís happening at ECR! Needless to say the RAIN has wreaked havoc on our progress, wet mud is hard to move and our site must be relatively dry before we can perform any work. I believe, however that there is light at the end of the tunnel as there is a positive forecast for next week. Who could have dreamed that there would not be a few 100 plus degree days in the books by July 4th? Monday the team will attempt to get back to work, however limited by our equipments ability to move about the site. We need about six weeks of uninterrupted work to complete things, so letís stay positive.

In the meantime work has been progressing on our first building; the A/C ducting is complete on the first floor, as they continue work on the 2nd floor. Electrical is complete; insulation is being installed and sheetrock will go on directly. The well supplying the facility has been drilled and the water system is being installed. Other support services such as septic will be going in next week. There will be two patios, one on each floor, facing the track. They will be equipped with cool mist fans so the drivers and guests can cool off and relax. Weíre also removing an additional 20ft of the hill next to pit lane so in the future permanent garages can be installed along the pits. Corner worker stations are in the process of being built, three are already finished with the balance in process. There will be a total of 8 not including the start/finish, which has been completed and corner marshals are already angling for as the view is spectacular. As part of our safety plan an ambulance was purchased, which will serve as an on site EMT station.

In addition we have taken this opportunity to revise the track based on feedback from Members, Racers & our track designer Rob Wilson. We have changed the configuration of turns 1, 2 & 8. We are going to open the radius on each of these corners. Turns 1 & 2 will be safer as it will not require quite as much braking in addition to an increased opportunity to pass and race wheel to wheel. Turn 8ís radius will also be opened up allowing a much faster exit speed and enhanced top speed on our 2000 foot straight. All three corners will contribute to faster overall speeds and a faster rhythm to the track.

Once again, we apologize for the delay and trust everyone is aware of the conditions we face regarding weather. We will be on site working 7 days a week as weather allows in order to get our members on track as soon as possible. We look forward to visiting with you as the track comes on line and assure you that we will move forward toward completion with continued determination.

Best regards,

Linda Cook & Steve Watkins

It does indeed suck about ECR, but at least they want to do the track RIGHT. Nobody wants to get in there and do an event more than we do and Steve has a really good repore with the management... so when it's ready we shall be there.
