Am I the only one that feels like a Gorilla riding a liter bike these days? They just seem so darn small anymore.
A couple weekends ago, me and Joebusa rode with the Underground Canyon riders group, I did a little over 300 miles that day on the S1000rr, really the first long ride I've made on it since I owned it.. I was pretty sore in the hips/joints when I got home, more so then the old 01 gsxr1000, but I haven't rode much the last couple years so not accustomed to it I suppose...

Towards the end of the ride, stuck in bumper to bumper traffic...I was wishing I was on the roomier, smoother, softer riding Busa...lol

But for the most part, I still enjoy riding the smaller liter bikes then the big hypersports... Unless it's long hwy road trips.

I was thinking the H2 would be a good blend but... Not for that kind of money...plus the appearance of them is terrible.

I think the bang for the buck bike for us old may be the '12 and later ZX14Rs.. They are giving those things away, comfy, smooth and fast with some basic mods/flash.

I will say for 1/2 day rides or less, the S1000rr is a hoot...especially after they are flashed.

I was in the market for a new bike recently. I looked at the Yamaha FZ-09, Triumph Speed Triple, Honda CB1000R, Suzuki GSX1000F, VFR800, and Ducati Monster.

I didn't end up buying new, but I was set on the CB1000R. My next bike is going to be a fun naked bike like a FZ8, or SV650.

If I was going to buy a new bike, it'd be an FZ1 or the 2016 Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport.

I've been looking at a little bit of everything and just haven't found anything with that "gotta have it" factor I guess. Same with me but it's my knees that give me problems.

At one point I loved my R1 but don't know if I'd be comfy on one for just riding around, maybe a track day or two, work and back kind of stuff.

Shane told me he bought one of the new ZX10's and seems to like it. Suppose to be the closest thing to an S1000RR from the side of the house from what I've read so far.

Then again, they have some SILLLY rebates on the Busa's right now. I guess I'd look at getting a second if I could steal one for $8,500-9,500 new.

2016's are $1,000
2015's are $2,000
2014/13's are $2,500 off

...just hard to image when technology these days has moved so far ahead and really many are behind...

If it wasn't for the colors (or lack thereof) on the BMW, that would be my top choice... If they come out with a blue or silver one, I'm FKD.

I wouldn't mess with the R1M, they have a massive transmission recall that requires splitting cases on all new bikes, performed at dealer level... So I'm not doing that... And I'm not crazy about the front end appearance of the R1M with its little headlights.

The 16' ZX10R I think will be the bike to buy.. You can usually deal with Kawasaki on the pricing as well.. The ONLY thing I don't like on the zx10 is the dash and that goofy digital tach... The H2 dash layout is much better.

On the BMW, I like everything about it EXCEPT for the duck bill/platipus thing on the nose of it, and the gay colors/paint scheme.. For $19k+, I want to feel 100% satisfied with the appearance.

So I'm like you, nothing out there really stirs my soul.. Not that I'm new bike hunting as I just bought my BMW new in 13'... I like it a lot but honestly, I loved my old school 01 GSXR1000 better....it had more "character" and the color scheme was awesome on it.

No way would I buy a new Busa.....Suzuki has completely dropped the ball, they let us loyalists down..... The color/paint schemes suck, and have for the last 5-6 years.... I might would pick up a used orange/black 08' for $5k but that would be about it...

I'd buy a zx14r in a heartbeat over a new Busa...... And I'm a 16 year Busa owner.

I'd take a 2014 hp4 over a 15 s1000

Looks better.

I agree, 100%!!

HP4s are beautiful.. Especially the competition model with the forged blue wheels...

That's how S1000RRs should look. I originally was going to buy an HP4, but there wasn't any around in the summer of 13', and the 14's weren't out yet... So the next best color for me was the Granite Grey Metallic matte.... That's the one I bought. I've done a bunch of upgrades to it...I like the appearance of it... But I wish it had the features the 15' has.. Primarily cruise control and 6-7hp more, as well as more info on the dash..

Fwiw the r1 has been recalled and all current dealer stock has been put on a "no sale" until Yamaha replaces them. So, the transmission issues aren't that big of a deal anymore unless you were one of the poor souls who bought it when it first hit the floor. Any new r1 purchased now will contain the upgraded transmission parts. And it wasn't like anyone was having issues on the street. They experienced the issue in testing at the motogp level and decided to recall all of them. Yamaha doesn't around.
