Seatbelt ticket irony.

Seatbelts are their to protect us, and the law enforces it. FINE. give me my ticket I will pay it and and be back to my old ways in a few days. I know I should wear a seatbelt but reality is I dont wear it very much, especially in town.

I have a cage and an airbag to help protect me, that is so much more than when I am on my bike that riding in a car without a seatbelt feels pretty safe.

Anyways the irony is I get a ticket for no seatbelt from a cop on a bike. He is wearing is little half helmet and gloves (not leather BTW) with the fingers cut out.

We both crash who is going to get more ****ed up.

Yes I know its the law.

i always thought, it should be MY decision to wear one, if I am driving,

as for people under 18, or passengers, thats a whole different arguement

Even if you think everyone should wear one, shouldnt that be there decision?

True in a way.

I heard about a lady who got into a bad wreck and got throw out of her car since she wasn't wearing a seat belt and it saved her life because her car blew up or something. It's probably not true though haha.

I usually wear mine just out of habbit.

you need to get a white t-shirt with a printed seat belt design and the cops will never know.

Yes I know its the law.

Actually seatbelt laws arent there to protect you if you get in a wreck they are to protect me when you are driving around a corner hit a pot hole and slide across your bench seat of the truck lose contole and run me down on my bike

that is what the law is there for to keep you in the driver seat BEHIND the wheel to help precent you from loss of controle

(note) I dont like mine either though

I used to go off roading, in a truck, I dont think I ever slid enough to loose control of the vehicle... \
Granted the bumps made the wheel turn and sometimes it was hard to get control then, but it wasnt because I wasnt in my seat

That is just what they say the only time I see anyone flying out of there seat would be
A. sliding on ice or Rain.
B. just taking a corner to fast (not likely it would happen real easy but could happen)

that is what the court explained to me the last time i tried to fight the ticket

And yeah i got buckets and a console too LOL

ya I'm not trying to be a d**k, sorry if it came off that way.

It just seems like every point they come up with can be counter-pointed.

Like said earlier they wear theres because they want they're kid to. See that responsibility!

Should not be law IMO

i wear mine outa habit but in my truck if u push the seat belt lock, where the belt plugs in, it is on your right it will stop beeping. Also u don't want that airbag to go off with your body going towards it cus u don't have your seatbelt on. If u get pulled over and don't have your belt on. soon as u stop get out of the car. He will tell u to get back in and just say u DID have your belt on. can't hurt.
My 02 as usual
