not sure if he was in over his head on that 1000, trying to buzz me, or genuinely thought the appropriate line was grandstand-wall-to-pit-wall 60' before the start of T1, but he sure screwed the pooch on that one...

the ironic part of all this was that I was intentionally running the low line since I was off-pace (new tires) in order to stay out of the way of guys putting in fast laps.

So what ever happened? Did he help you with any repairs or anything?

Are there seriously guys in level 3 that are barely breaking 2:00..? I know that's the minimum requirement, but I assumed that nobody that was right on the edge was bumping up into level 3. I was running just over 2:00 on my first track day with all the level 1 traffic and minimal use of brakes, just working on consistent lines. I can't even imagine that people running marginally quicker than that pace would be in level 3

I know that, thank you. The real danger is sending someone out in level three who can barely break 2:00. Not sure if it is worse than running a lightweight bike in lvl 2 tho.

no, I've never met the guy and wouldn't know him if I saw him on the street.

this is a good argument for having solid health (and life) insurance, and the ability to walk away from a trashed bike if needed.

But he is when it comes to true level 3 riders! What scares me is when y'all have packed grids 1/2 the level 3 riders should be level 1 or 2. There is no way or rider verified requirement for anyone to sign up for for level 3 when y'all are booked solid. Its dangerous as when someone is running 2min + times, unpredictable lines, and parking it ever corner. This is a level 3 riders worst nightmare!!! I have never seen anyone be policed out of level 3 and put in a lower level or kicked out due to over crowding like y'alls policy states on the website? Thankfully I have track members like John and others that I take advantage of lol

I'm not far behind that. Most fast ULW racers will be below a 57 at msrh long course.

As a side note, lightweight bikes are sv650's. Minis are 180cc and below. ULW bikes are the 250-500's.

Now try to tell them that the "races" are turning laps from 1:56 to 2:00 on the 250's and they choose to be on LV3 because they trust the racer friends much more than a LV3 wanna be
On the other hand I do enjoy passing the big bikes on LV2

Please tell the TM when you see someone that shouldn't be in 3. We try to ask all the right questions at registration but it doesn't always work out. If we have enough instructors we try to have someone police the levels but it gets hard sometimes.

Remember this is still a school first, track day second. Even in level 3 we ask for courteous passing. Cmon you all were there once!

But saying that of course I will bring all these points back up again

Thats how you lose customers is by telling them they're not good enough for the level they signed up for. Wonders will do anything to keep customers.

What classes do level 3 riders go to?
