Repair & repaint, and bump up the presence of gold JUST A BIT. Don't get all ghetto bling, but add accents here and there that are almost unnoticeable at first glance.

maybe i can save you some money, instead of repainting the whole bike the stock color. we can try to wetsand, buff, and polish so the paint looks fresh and new again.

unless, you got some heavy scratches that really bother you, then paint is the only way.

flat black might look good. haven't really seen it on a 636 before.

Polish/buff will not come out good on black paint!

black is a PITA to buff and polish because of the swirls that are left behind...but there are ways to finish the swirls off as well.

yep, but we didn't get to do the final stage of the polish. it would've been a waste of material to keep going, and risk ripping the paint clean off.

oem standards are usually about 3 coats of clear....1 coat was oxidized and beatin up by the blue tarp his brother neglected to tie down, we sanded away another coat....and started buffing, but we got a lil worried we would break through the clear if we kept going. so we stopped. on clean paint with some scratches here and there......buffing/polishing can easily be done without being noticed. which is also why the following week, i suggested to will we should keep the option of re-clearing the side....and try to go harder with the compound/polish.

sorry for the thread hi-jack gryph :icon_bigg
