290 Debris/Hazards Locations Thread

While observing the 288 hazard thread it immediatley came to mind all the bullshit thats been in the roads since 290's been under construction.

Add to that the fact that the lanes are being reduced in width and changing layout and something as innocuous as a flat tire left partially standing in a lane becomes a very big, almost near deathly road hazard.

I have seen the 15+ ft construction signs blown over from wind/rain waiting to pierce your shoulder/head.

Flat tires/spare tires left leaning upright against the wall on the side of the left/right lane barrier walls just waiting to start rolling...eking into traffing

Etc. etc.

I will update this thread with more specific locations of debris/hazards when i make my journey back by there (since i do so daily)

Also the brave men and women who have to go out there and clean others peoples messes up arent being notified promptly so these hazards will remain on the road for days and days at a time.

If anyone else has any information on the whereabouts of these hazards please feel free to chime in.

Last year while driving back from Senate into Houston, I was nearly crushed by 2 semi-trucks. I was in a F-550 flatbed with a 24' goose neck (102" wide) and because of the narrow lanes they both drifted into me... so close that one moved my extended mirror in a little. I had the pucker effect going till I cleared 610.

This is good to know.

Yeah 290 has gotten bad in quite a few spots. I don't ever use it unless I'm headed to Austin but when I do there's always something.

I use it almost daily, if you pay attention it's not that bad. I guess I've adapted to the BS that is 290. This reminds me, need to email TXDot and tell them to get on to the contractors with their lane closure signs. When you state that ramps will be closed from 8 pm - 5am daily, you don't shut the ramp down at 7:30 to get a head start.

Ok so on my route of 290 which is from 290 & 610 all the way back to West Little York Park n Ride I have not seen any debris or road hazards on either side of the road recently.

I cannot speak for the other parts of 290 heading deeper West into Cypress but from 610 to beltway 8 the roads are clear at the moment.
