Noob incoming!

Hi there!

Thought I'd post and introduce myself before I start asking y'all endless questions! lol

About me, I'm a not a totally new rider but I have very limited experience riding. I bought a 600cc bike four or five years ago, after taking an MSF course. I rode it for 3k miles before I low-sided going 40mph on a turn. Thankfully I was wearing full gear so I ended up with only scrapes and bruises. I had to sell my bike shortly after for financial reasons, and I've been missing it every single day since then!

Anyway enough of sob stories, I can now finally afford another bike so here I am!! I'm looking forward to meeting people from here, y'all seem like a nice bunch

P.S. I'm still looking for a bike, my budget is $3500 for the bike itself. I'm looking at the ninja 300, yamaha r3, honda cbr500r, ninja 650. No 600cc's this time. Y'all have any other suggestions?

Welcome back to riding! If you still have your book from the MSF class, re-read it and get some parking lot practice in. Riding skills are perishable, and that'll help get some of the rust off. Be safe, and good luck!

You looking at used, right? Craigslist is always an option, but be careful. There are a lot of bad deals out there. Don't get impatient, and don't buy the first bike you look at! I almost bought a terrible 2005 ZX6R; ground down fork adjusters, missing inner cowling pieces, fairings bolted on with Home Depot hardware, etc, etc, etc. Thankfully, I got distracted by a SV650, then waited a little bit longer, and my current bike popped up, for the same price as the terrible bike. Big difference, a little time can make. If you're not very familiar with motorcycle mechanicals, take along someone who is. There are a LOT of little things to look for, that you might miss, if you don't know what to look at. A good detailing can hide a ton of problems, if the seller is so inclined. The nice thing about he 250-300s, is that when you're ready to move on, you can recover most, if not all, of your initial investment.

Definitely don't jump on the first thing you see take your time test ride things and if you know about bikes then you'll be fine I found a 03 zx6r with 7500 miles that had been lowsided but the bike is perfect except for some cosmetic issues I picked it up for 2000 clean title in hand just be patient and remember ATGATT
