It doesn't get too much more purdy than today.

I understand. Just giving you a hard time. I just want to make sure you update this, because I hate it when a thread starts with a problem and there is no conclusion.

Big thanks to mx6er for helping me troubleshoot. Looks like it was the radiator. Took it for a quick run today and did everything but behave. Temp gauge didn't get above 1/3 at sustained better-than-posted freeway speeds for the first part of the ride. Got above half and started to climb when I made it work on a curvy road, and I didn't give it a break when I got back on the freeway. Gauge stayed north of half (but not as high as it was before) until I took the home stretch at 30-40mph. Gauge gradually dropped the rest of the way home.

I talked to a fella on here that used to...well, do more than commute on his EX500. From the sound of it, today's behavior is pretty normal when you make the bike work for any length of time.

my 03 ninja 250 liked to get pretty hot and the temp would dance all over the place as well.

now my sv650 goes from 170-210 on hot days but the gauge is digital so its not quite as alarming as the analog gauge going from low to hi to low then rapidly back up to high when i am simply stopped at a redlight.
