Deal or no deal?

So my next bike will definitely be a dual sport and I've been looking around and found this. I really want a 400cc but this looks like a good deal.

http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/CSC-TT...p/ztt250-w.htm

Less than 2 grand for a new bike with a year warranty seems pretty good. What do you think?

Opinions?

Azusa, CA is kind of a long ride to get any warranty work done

True... Ok so a new 250cc dual sport with a useless warranty. Still seems like a good deal but I wonder how reputable that company is

This is their ADV bike:

To cut down on costs to the consumer, CSC has no plans to use a traditional dealer network. Instead, you purchase directly from the warehouse and have it delivered to your home or you can swing on in and ride on out on your new bike. Instead of dealer support, what you get with the purchase of a Cyclone is a full factory service manual and a detailed maintenance tutorial page on their website that walks you through valve adjustments, fork rebuilds, replacing the clutch and everything in between. There are detailed pictures and specific instructions to help you complete each job on your own.

The bikes are Chinese. CSC buys them from Zongshen.

I'd be afraid of that service manual. I'm sure it's in Engrish.

Awesome, thanks for the links. I guessed it was Chinese but I'm still not detoured lol.

This is cool "CSC says it will contract with local independent businesses to perform maintenance or warranty work."

KAcfiz, definitely try it out.

However, I would offer 2000 for the XT250 on craigslist right now.

I have an XT225 that went over 50000 miles till the engine blew. rebuilt and runs like new.

I would suggest looking for an XT225 as well. Those can be had for less than $1500 sometimes with low miles and has 6 speeds. It can go up to 83mph per speedometer. with a good draft on 290.

Im sure there are loads of places ready to sign up to do warranty work that they probably wont get paid for after waiting months for parts.

lol well I'm not buying anything right now but I'll check it out. Thanks man

I'm not even worried about top speed, I just want something to go mainly off road but street legal so I can get to the off road spots.

According to that thread that bike was an Apollo, not CSC. Either way, if the bike broke down somewhere I sure as wouldn't just leave it there lol.

No deal. Buy a real bike not a disposable one. Resale will be nonexistent when you realize you up and want to dump it.

That was an entertaining thread.

These things are about as much risk as the early Japanese import scoots. It'll take some time for them to get the whole operation up to industry standards. Lowered Japanese bikes, like my son's new KLX140L, are really not Japanese bikes any more. You might have bought a mostly Chinese built bike and not even know it. Only difference is that do benefit from Japanese QC/QA and distributor/dealer support. You do pay more for that.

It's only a matter of time before you start seeing Chinese branded bikes showing up at the traditional moto dealers.

That's what I'm thinking. This bike may be a total piece of trash but it also may be a decent bike. I don't think "made in China" is going to mean POS forever...
