Would'nt necessarily call him a dumbass. I thinks he's doing something right if he's keeping up. Not a whole lot of street cars out there that can hang with alot of liter bikes, let alone modded ones. Yes he lost, but give credit where credits due.

imo, these youtube roll on "tests" on the street dont tell the whole story. gearing has so much to do with it, and i doubt most of the tests get above 130mph. so if your comparing stock production vehicles, sure. but once you change final drive or inside the trans, there is no telling which motor is really "better".

i.e. say bike does 175 top speed. change sprockets and bring it down to 125, thats gonna boost the out of accel and still have enough top end to test roll ons.

the other bike could have a top end of say 185, but be geared for a top end of 150. most likely the first bike will win all the "tests". but set the second bikes sprockets to have 125 top speed and it should win by a small margin.

same goes for a car. youd really have to set the final drives to the same top end to see who has the better motor.

maybe im crazy but i dont consider sprockets, to be all that impressive of a mod. its cheap, anyone can afford it, easy to do, and appears to give amazing results, but it really isnt. its more like fudging the numbers.

now on the other hand if you go and replace your entire trans with a close ratio racing trans...

...PROPS!

regardless, the mustang was fast and the guy on the 10r had room for improvement to say the least

Also, they're racing. On a street. Who cares about which vehicle has what gear ratios? The purpose of racing is to see who'se the fastest. If I wanted to see HP numbers, I'd watch a dyno video.

I'm sure you guys have cars that can beat that Mustang, right? With A/c too, right? It's so easy for bike owners to talk to cars since they have what, 9-10x less weight, lol.

I don't have a problem with cars trying to race a bike and hanging. If that's the case, it's probably b/c not many other CARS can hang with him anymore so he has to step up the competition. Look at Duy and his supra here in town. He runs bikes b/c no one but track cars offer to run him anymore.

i raced duy on my stock 636 one night and he only put like a car on me but when he raced the liter bikes he was getting his handed to him. yeah duy is fast but theres faster street supras. he needs to do something different with the trans imo.

anyways, like someone said. street racing is about seeing who is faster over a given period of time and or speed.
