In the eyes of the law, it's your fault your property was damaged because you should not have given possession of it to a minor. Now go sue yourself. I don't know how much more simply I can state that.

Technically you do not have to give the money back and they can not take you to court it they do here in the state of Texas a male at the age of 17 will have been considered an adult therefore him and his parents will be out if money for lawyer fees for nothing

1. If a 17 year old lives in his parent's household, he's a minor.
2. Lawyers don't represent folks in small claims (Justice court). Nice try.

1. Check the link above
2. Most folks are smart enough to know you can sue anyone in small claims court without seeking any legal advice, counselor

Man i've missed a lot taking a day off. Like i said before ill give her the money back.

But here is the update. Bike is in same condition as sold.
Mom text me today and said cops just left her house and they sent her a special cop that has ridden bikes since he was.20. Lol. She said he said he wouldnt have paid $450 for it. So now she wants the difference. Mom now says she willing let him keep the bike if i give them $300. I asked her for the cops number so i could call and verify his statement. She said no.

Hypothetically... if she states she is willing to let him keep it via text would that be.considereD comsent?

If you and the mom can agree on the price that's a contract with her.
