Downtown parking?

I've done extensive searching on this topic, including reading several past threads on many different on forums. Most of the information was useless, and all of it is outdated by now, so I think it's worth discussing again: where is there any cheap motorcycle parking in downtown Houston?

Free parking would be best, but I'm interested in cut-rate parking too. Anything where I can capitalize on the fact that my vehicle takes up less room and fits in more spots than a car.

Instances where you got favorable treatment from a garage attendant or business owner are worth mentioning.

Spots that are *technically* illegal but unenforced are also interesting. Please spare any lectures on how using these spots is asking for a ticket, but do offer advice on how to avoid a ticket while using such spots.

I walked around today at 5pm to check out a few spots mentioned in other threads. Maybe everyone was gone, but I only saw a single motorcycle, next to the criminal courthouse in the "authorized vehicles only" area.

When I use to work at the Sam Houston Hotel on Prairie Street, the valet guys would always hook me up with free parking across the street in their parking garage. They continued to do so far after I worked there and even when they change attendants. I was still able to park in there with my bike for free, all I did was roll up to the valet and say I work in the hotel and need the swipe card to park... they never asked questions, just gave me the card and let me park and all I would do is immediately return it to the guy who gave it to me.
