KLX400 (DRZ400) Street Legal Conversion

I am looking at different tail/brake light options to buy for my KLX400. Any particular brand ya'll like? I'm trying to get an inspection so I can get registration for it but I don't want to buy the whole street legal kit... don't need the blinkers.. any advise would be appreciated.

Here is a picture of what I have. I just stuck a plate off a CBR for the moment, but want to get it legal soon.

I'm pretty certain Polisport makes a universal brake light kit.

Yep.

I use a $24.99 cycle gear stop / tail / license light LED combo on my dual sports. Mounts to almost any fender and is DOT legal. Looks and functions just like this acerbis which you can get for $38 online.

I've never been pulled over for using it, and I've never had a light burn out.

Also, the Baja Designs all in one is too heavy. I have one on my plated CRF230 and off road it flops around, vibrates, and makes me nervous that something is gonna just fall off. And the standard lighbulbs are so bothered by the exhaust and vibration they burn out regularly, every 500 miles.

DRZ 400 Kick/Motard Convert

Little late to this party, but I am in the process of doing the exact same thing to my 01 kick only model DRZ.

I went with this option for tail/brake/licenseplate light. Super clean, but I haven't installed it yet, because I'm being a about drilling holes in my brand new acerbis rear fender.

Did you chase down the pressure switches for your master cylinders as well?
I grabbed the Baja Design's from Bike Bandit. Forgot the thread pitch exactly, and it may be different for your KLX so check that.
