Thank you . I'm looking for someone to teach me basic maintenance and how to remove and put on new fairings. If you happen to have the time to teach a newbie :o

I will be working on bikes in the next few weeks. I will let you know when. You are welcome to come over and help a little with mine and we can work on yours a bit as well. I'm pulling the motor out of my R1. It's almost out. An extra set of hands helps though.

Fairings are easy to remove, the hard part is not over torqueing the bolts... plenty of cracked stator cases and stripped holes in my past.

Invest in a good torque wrench. I bought (2), one up to 150 pounds and the other goes up to 50 pounds.

Is that inch pounds or foot pounds?

The smaller one is 1/4" drive and is inch pounds, the 1/2" drive is foot pounds. The 1/2" drive starts at 10 pounds.

Just don't get him riled up about He-man, He'll talk your ear off about that sword or cat always foiling his plans.
