rentable track bikes(250's)

A long looong time ago when tried to race, someone was renting track bikes.
Would there be a market for this?
I was considering putting a few bikes together just as rentable track bikes.
Yes, I know there is a huge risk involved.
was thinking.... for cmra and track days.

My "B" bike I purchased from Kevin (rent my ninja) and I think it was the last of he had. I think the only organization left doing this is Feel Like A Pro http://www.feellikeapro.com/ and theya re all 250's as well. We don't have anything like this here in Houston and I do think it could be a good idea... my brother would rent one for sure...

The Penguin race school up in the Northeast offers rental packages:
http://www.penguinracing.com/pages/2...le_details.cfm

$600 for a 3-day weekend seems steep, but it sounds like a popular program.

starting to give this idea some more thought....

I'm thinking about converting 2 Hyosung 250s to rentable track bikes.
stock bikes in race trim( lights and all that removed) with basic upgrades. tires, fork oil, rear shock upgrade.

Am I going to need permission from CMRA or track day guys for this?

Not sure on pricing and all that yet.
feel like a pro was priced...
$65 per sprint race.
$180 half a day
$325 track day/ full day.

$50 sprint race
$200 1 full day.
$350-400 for a full weekend(sat-sunday)

I'm still in the THINKING stages of it, so I'm honestly looking for feed back on pricing... LMK if this seems about right or not even close.

Was considering doing this as well with another contact. Slightly different but same principle, we were thinking of selling turnkey seat time on a 2nd race bike under a 2 bike CMRA team. It's the whole "arrive and drive" principle you see in car motorsports.

It's been many years since I've even been to a race let alone race. A lot has changed.

Side note I'm looking at a 390 tomorrow. but as a personal bike.

Hyosung is not a good platform. I do not think I have seen one at any CMRA event.

250 or 300s would be the way forward. The 250 grids are starting to dwindle, so 300 may be the best choice long term.

Good Luck finding an R3 for not a lot of money.....

Obviously the idea is to make money but I'm want it to be a deal for both sides.
If I bought r3's, ninjas ,KTM 390.... the buck will be passed on the customer. Racing is already expensive so I'm looking something affordable. That's why I'm looking at the Hyo's. Cheap, simple to maintain, and easy to replace and I have 7 hyos total. lol

someone say 390?
albertohoustonian, if you have any q's about the 390, ask and i'll give you my best answer.
first off, if you plan on taking the 390 to the track, get an rc over a duke. the duke's pegs scrape way too soon. my friend has an rc. it's pretty cool, but my duke seems to overall work better.

May work for track days. I do not think anyone would sprint one, though.

Good Luck

I hear what you are saying about the 250'd being outdate(power wise) already. but if I was in the point chase and my bike was down I'd take what I can get.

Track days is prob. what I'd probably what I'd like to do honestly.... that way I could say come by pick up the bike and go... or just drop off at the track and pick up at the end of the weekend.

I registered on CMRA to see if there might be an interest for this...
