Where to go?

Me and some friends are thinking about going out on Friday night.
We'll like to have some drinks and dance.
Couple of us like hiphop.
Where in downtown or midtown to go?
Somewhere clean and safe?
Thanks.

Scott Gertner's Sky Bar (Jazz-one of my favorite clubs here in Houston depending on what crowd is there), Toc (fair warning: very young crowd), Havana (Salsa), Copa Cabana (Salsa, Meringue, etc), Warrens (Great Drinks), Red Cat Jazz Cafe

to be continued when I think of more...

Tell me more about those places.
Salsa and Meringue sounds good.
Are they clean and safe?

So far Chrome would be the place.
It's right down the street from where I live, so I like the idea not driving so far.

Though last year my birthday, my friend's car got towed, we end up waiting for a ride 2AM...

Chrome is that place off of Shepard right?

Both places are nice. Copa has a little bit younger crowd but still more of a sophisticated crowd than you would find at a place like say a Toc or a Pink Monkey LMAO :laughing6 . Havana is a mixture of both younger and older. Great crowd. Even plenty of folks that are willing to teach you how to Salsa and Meringue if you are willing (they will actually come out n grab you-politely, but still kind of unexpectedly). Very nice, clean, safe place. Parking may be a bit of an issue and being that it is mostly girls I'm assuming in your group, might be a good idea to park in the garage next door rather than finding a spot on the street far from the club. I'm not very trusting of people in Houston n e more so I am always extra diligent.
