Fatality on 45S, NB @ BW8

Just saw another motorcycle accident on the news. No information yet other than a motorcycle fatality on the ramp.

I wonder if he fell off the elevated ramp onto the ground level entrance

I'm more curious about WTF they mean by this:

Quote:
Gulf Freeway at South Beltway 8 north in southwest Houston.

How the story is written is confusing, but the picture (to me) looks like the 45S on ramp that is directly after the exit for BW8 when you are going south on 45. (where bombshells and the movie theater is)

Looks like there is a possibility he was trying to get onto 45 from the feeder, but like Bevo mentioned there is a possibility that he somehow fell from the BW8 Exit lanes above. (a bit of a stretch there, and I am sure the lanes on the BW8 exit would be affected as well by debris/motorcycle staying on the ramp if that was the case)

I'm looking at a live picture. The bike is on it's side in the center of the ground level entrance ramp south bound. He could have ran across the median from I-45 onto the end of the ramp.

That is probably the most likely scenario, these news crews really should get their together.

That's a bad area to ride through in the morning... mainly because of all the drivers who try to play king-of-the-hill because they think ALL the lanes are theirs... just saying.

Dude, there is no news crew at that scene. They're getting reports from Transtar and HPD who are trying to figure out as well.

Now I'm hearing that the rider was trying to enter the freeway and struck a guardrail on the ramp.

News sites*? Regardless anyone with minimal knowledge of the roads in houston could have deciphered the information given easily.

It's not like were asking these people to give us reports on some back road in Huntsville or something. Really, we aren't really asking much. Give accurate accounts, maybe proofread the information they are putting out, possibly have an editor check and see if what they have written sounds retarded? After all, isn't this their job?? seriously, they are saying this occured in southwest houston.

Lea Wilson, Digital News Editor "wrote" the story without leaving the building. Could have been in a hurry and typed southwest instead of southeast. You should contact them and give them an chewing

I really do not have the expertise in writing to get into that kind of battle with someone more educated than me. All I can hope for is someone who has common sense and a very good education has already done that for me.

The problem is that they all want to be first to air it on what ever format. They dont wait to get information anymore. And they will gladly do a selfie cast on scene if they can

These threads are just par for the course with the fair weather riding population. Any time the weather is decent, the number of riders increase as does the fatality count.
