CBR600RR Rider Dead

635828191839251489 North Fwy Fatal Moto Ax

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A motorcycle rider was killed in a single vehicle accident along the North Freeway overnight.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when a motorcycle rider was heading north on the feeder road at a high rate of speed.

For unknown reasons, he failed to make a curve in the road at Booker and struck the right side curb, losing control of the motorcycle.

The rider was thrown into the grassy area on the right side of the road. Deputies said he was wearing a helmet.

He died at the scene. Deputies will follow up with the medical examiner to determine if alcohol was a factor.

There is no obvious evidence that any other vehicle was involved and there were no witnesses.

My wheel exploded on impact and the tire came off. So its pretty easy. I mean the wheel is just cast aluminum.

Holy smokes what an impact. RIP the rider for sure.

(odd that people aren't saying RIP. Very different from the Galveston fatality thread)

Weren't you the guy who made a distasteful (and now deleted) comment about the wife of the deceased in the other thread..?

Maybe people aren't saying RIP because it's pretty obvious that this guy made his own bed, unlike the other thread where it's unclear if it was the fault of the rider or not. Either way, RIP

Yep & btw, I did not delete those posts. And the circumstances are not as obvious to me as is apparently is to you. I don't believe the specifics of either accident have came to light. I just mentioned the difference in reactions. I'll let everyone draw their own conclusions as to why.

Terrible loss. My condolences to the family. Sometimes the greatest risk to our personal safety is our confidence in our own abilities, let's take it easy out here.

I iive right down the road from this. The area is real dark and if he got on it after turning off Spring Stubener to the feeder going north he might not have seen the curbing when the lane merges into one when joining the main feeder road for I-45 north. I drove right by this when I went to get gas last night at midnight but it was down below so I didnt see exactly what the accident was.
