Lorenzo crowned 2015 MotoGP world champion
Its the Spanish riders fifth world championship title
MOVISTAR Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo has been crowned the 2015 MotoGP world champion at Valencia.
After a controversial couple of weeks following Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi’s incident in Sepang, Lorenzo managed to keep on top of the pressure to take his fifth world title.
The Spaniard’s 2015 season began with three hard races - two fourths and a fifth. Lorenzo’s Championship standings were already being questioned so early in the season.
Following the three disappointments, four victories followed as the MotoGP paddock return to Europe. Marquez crashed three times which ruled himself out of the title battle.
Lorenzo then had several top five finishes, which placed him in contention with his teammate Rossi.
Despite a crash in Misano, Lorenzo went on to take his fifth world championship in Valencia with 330 points, five points ahead of Rossi.
