Best indoor karting

Is track 21 (hwy 6&clay) still the best facility in town?

Yah. K1 doesn't leave you smelling like exhaust, but T21 karts are more of a challenge and they just bought all new karts I believe.

Yeah track 21 just got new karts. K1 is alright. The throttle response is worse at k1 and the track isnt as fun in my opinion. The best place to go is Dallas Karting Complex. It's 1 mile long, 18 turn track. The karts get progressively faster. Totally worth the trip up there ifor you get the chance. A few buddies and I go a few times a year

Either one. T21's new karts are the same as K1's, just gas instead of electric.

Yup, I used to go to DKC when I lived up there. Actually, they are running a promo for ten sessions for a 100 bucks right now. Must be used in the next twelve months and can be shared with friends. Add them on FB.

That's was going to be my next comment if you were interested. I've been taking advantage of their Facebook deals for a while now

I want to try their faster karts one of these days.

Has anyone gone to the msrh track (kart)?

The fast karts are insane. Like 5 times faster at least. I want to get in a shifter kart some day. I'd love to join the sport but it's crazy expensive. A shifter kart can be 10k+

If you're paying $10k for a shifter kart you're doing it wrong. My neighbor has been building them for years. Chassis will run you about $3-$4k new and a 125 motor about $750. It's about as expensive as motocross, so not that bad. I haven't been on the msrh track, but I drive the Katy track sometimes. is wild fun!

Good to know! Half the price isn't so bad. Im getting my info from guys at DKC. Might be a different kart or class. I don't know about that sport. It's fun as though

I'm sure you can find an older used kart for that budget but a nice used kart that will be somewhat competitive with the Katy crowd will cost anywhere between $6,000 and $10,000 just for the kart.

Bullshit... I'm turning 47 second laps on a restricted 125 shifter with a setup for someone 4 inches shorter than me. And I've also got less than 75 laps experience. Just because the fast guys are in brand new, overpriced karts doesn't mean a more economical kart won't be competitive.

Edit: and those lap times are with only 10 laps in the shifter. Was turning :50 laps in a crg just before that.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade but that's about 8 seconds slower than a "overpriced new cart" runs GCKI.

Which is why I felt it necessary to tell you I probably haven't even turned 75 laps on both karts combined. Before that I only drove Mountasia karts 20 years ago. Plus neither of the two karts I drove were set up for me. I'm saying I'm a complete noob out there and can still somehow manage to be somewhat fast.

15-20% slower is not somewhat fast...

I see your point. I don't need to have the biggest and baddest to own a kart or race in a few events. I'm sure the hottest item is a few grand more. 5-6k sound more than fair to bring my own shifter kart. To be honest I'd be more interested in building a kart. this sounds awesome

I've been looking into getting into karts for a while. All my track bikes have been older used bikes and that hasn't held me up too much. I'm sure it's the same with karting. I will never be fastest no matter how much I spend. I'm just looking to have fun.
