Tire choices and opinions....

Alright guys...
Im about to buy a set of tires for my 07 zx10r. Stock tires (Dunlop Qualifiers) only have 850 miles on them as of tonight but there still look almost brand new as it was all break in miles on them. I will be selling them when i pull them off. They are 190/55/17 and 120/70/17.

Im going with the same size front tire but im trying to decide if i want to run a 190/50/17 or another 190/55/17 when i replace them? Any suggestions?

Also, reply to the poll with your opinion of the best tire of the ones i have listed.

Thanks!!

BTW, I saw the continental sportattacks or contiattacks in person today and really like the tread on them but havent heard too much feedback about them.

Stick with stock, qualifiers are good tires. On the street you won't be able to tell the difference. I'm often heard of people saying that their tires slip on the street, but me thinks its really just a figment of their imagination. Somehow I think it sounds cooler to say that you made your tires slip.

2ct.

i've used them on the track as well. maybe slipped out ONCE. i don't see how anybody would slip on the street....unless it's from gravel/dirt or something....but then again, any tire will slip from on the road.

If you go with the 2CT make sure you get one that is not part of the recall. I'm still waiting for Michelin to send my replacement front Aside from the recall I'm happy with the PP 2CT so far but haven't had them to the track yet.

If you are sliding tires on the street it must be cold weather or cold tires in warm weather. I would imagine that the 10R will spin up quite a bit in cold weather. Control it right and it can be pretty fun.

Stock qualifier sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
The stock is nothing compared to the regular Dunlop qualifier. I had it on my 06 10r and I kept losing traction. Now I have stone 002 street and it's not that great either. If I run it at 28rear and 29 front then it would feel okay. Higher than that it would slip too. Maybe it's my riding skills. :dontknow: Go with Michelin 2ct or Continental contisport. Those are my next choice.

OEM Qualifier that Kawi put on the 10R is different from regular Qualifier you buy from the stores and they suck (verified by motorcycle magazine testers). I've been using Michelin PP both on the street (even in the rain) and on the track and I'm extremely happy.

Post Are You A Golfer?

Hello Everyone,

I am a golfer myself and I like to play whenever I get a chance.
A short while ago, a very good friend of mine told me about a great golfing equipment and accessories website that has discounted prices on all their products, same day shipping in most cases and there is no state sales tax, they are paying that.
So if any golfer here is ready to save some money on quality products at highly discounted prices, you might want to check out their site at; http://hoffmangolf.com

I've got a maxxis rear, and after 6000 miles, I've still got plenty of tread left down the middle. I haven't had one slip yet, and I ride regularly in the rain.

I'd stay with the 190/55 profile tire (stock).
However, because of that profile, your tire choices will be fairly limited.

Out of the tires you've got listed, the M3 does not currently offer a 190/55.
As a result, the remainder of the tires on the chart are "track day" inspired tires, so wear and temperature sensitivity may be issues.

The Sport Attacks are decent tires, I haven't personally ridden on them, and I know a few people who do like them, but the consensus among riders whose opinion I value, is that it seems the traction drops off pretty rapidly with wear. I've heard the same from multiple customers as well.

That being said, I have ridden on the BT002 Street, the 2CT and the Super Corsa 3's.

I like all three a lot, and at anything less than all out race speeds, they all have more than enough traction IMO.
Wear is pretty good for what I call "track day tires", they work acceptably in the wet, and traction was fairly linear even when worn.

In the end, I'd have to say the 2CTs are currently my favorite, but front tire availability is an issue till later this month.

Word! Although you would have to go with a 190/50 or 180/55. I don't know what kind of riding you do, but the 2ct doesn't last very long.

I just put a set of Pirelli Corsa 3s on my RC51 and did a trackday at TWS (Texas World Speedway). And they are definitely the biz. They are the best "street tire" I've ever run.

All you need to know about them is this:

It is a street tire and is the spec race tire for European Supersport 600.

Well guys, im going to be riding the street only but i have felt the stock qualifiers slip on me a couple times. Nothing major but enough to want to throw a better set on it. I hear its a cvommon problem with the stock tires on these bikes. They just arent that great. On the other hand, i have put 850 miles on them without barely any wear at all. They still look almost brand new. I kept them for break in because i wasnt riding them hard at all but since ive been gettin into it a bit, they dont seem to be that great.

The PP 2CT's would be my choice but due to recalls and all that mess, alot of shops arent even getting them until the stuff is all worked out and over with. Those were the original tires i was going to use. I saw the sportattacks yesterday and they look cool but wasnt sure how good they were. The M3's they only had in a 190/50, (Patrick is right) and i didnt know if i should drop from the 55 to the 50 or not but if its better to stay with the 55, i guess that knocks the M3 out of the question. Looks like its between the last 4 now for me.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
