FYI- SHNF trails were great today!

4 of us ODODB dudes rode the west side trails in the SHNF today and the trails were the best I've seen them in years, packed perfect sand, no dust, traction, and 60 degree weather. Wish this would stay around for awhile, but you know TEXAS weather. Glad they opened the trails today for sure, would have hated to miss this day of riding.....

You're riding the dirt... My bf is in the Mohave desert about to ride dirt... And I'm stuck in an office all week. I am very jealous of all of you! ... It'd be nice if it would stop raining on the weekends!

We have 14 signed up to ride Saturday at 8am at Kelly's Pond, any bets on if it will happen?

My fear of riding in a storm isn't the rain, it's the tree limbs that could fall..

OK, we rode Saturday and had a blast. NO DUST. Drizzled on us all ride, but who cares, was fun. As of now the trails are still open and 7 ODODB members and one girlfriend (on an 85 2 stroke) are signed up for a ride Sunday at Kelly's pond @ 9:30 start time. Might be someone for you to ride with Crossfits. Allen is leading this one, he's on a KX250f with GREEN SPOKES, you can't miss him. Tell him Larry sent you and he'll make sure you make it out ok.

Mucho fun in the forest today. Pretty cool to ride with some rain. Glad I didn't let the weather/weather man scary me into staying home.

Anytime you can ride in the forest without dust and powdered sand it's fun.

Here's what my Sunday's ride was... close call on Honeymoon. Got a little rain on Saturdays ride and made the clay sections and roots pretty slippery, but sand was perfect. Also notice the hunters carrying a deer out and game warden at the 1375 crossing checking hunters.

What a beautiful day! I notice about 14:50, the trails were super narrow (when you were passing those guys coming the opposite direction)... I think that's my only fear, hitting someone head on... Thank goodness for gear..

Crossfits--That's one of the few spots on the Honeymoon trail I really worry about, just a blind corner with overgrown shrubs, most of the time I'm cruisin' thru that section, but was trying to catch up with the guys ahead of me, who'd guessed they would be stopped in the corner, not me for sure.

Sounds like a good place for me to trim back next trail work day.
