Rossi appeals FIM decision

With one week to go, Rossi still works to right his "wrong".

I love VR, I like MM, however, it's hard to say who's really at fault honestly. I think if VR starts from the back row he'll surely lose the title this year, JLo is just too fast and strong for VR to make up that time deficit, maybe 10 years ago he sure would have, but not today.

Either way, I support the final decision whether or not I agree with it (I have no choice and no say-so in the matter). This event has really turned the motorsports world on its head, I was shocked to watch it live and couldn't believe no black flag was thrown, honestly, I was surprised they allowed him to finish the race and keep his 3rd place points.

I would love to see the two Yamaha guys battle it out, a blood bath to the checkered flag, may the fastest, smartest guy win. JLo is a royal , and if he was not in contention for the title, I doubt his attitude would be the same in this situation (although it wouldn't be too different), I feel he has disgraced the sport with his poor sportsmanship and horrible attitude towards his own team mate. He wants Dorna and the FIM to hand him the title as if he's entitled to it this year which is not the case, he has earned the points and the opportunity to be in P2 at the moment but in no way is he entitled.

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2015/1...ecision/188688

In one weeks time, we shall see, but I strongly feel the current decision will stand without alterations.

I don't want Rossi to start from the back because I want to see him and Marquez dice it up again. That was definitely a good bit of fun to watch before Rossi obliterated Marquez with his kick of 1,000 raging Italians (I kid, I kid).

A decision on Rossiís request for a stay is expected to be issued no later than 6 November 2015.
On the basis of Article 3.4.2, para 3 of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations, Mr Valentino Rossi has filed an Appeal against the decision taken by the Race Direction of the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix in Sepang, penultimate round of the FIM MotoGP Grand Prix World Championship, and confirmed by the FIM Stewards, to award 3 penalty points to Mr Rossi following an incident on Turn 14.

In appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Mr Rossi seeks annulment or reduction of the penalty. He further requests stay of execution of the decision in accordance with Article R37 of the Code of Sports-Related Arbitration.

The FIM will not comment any further at this time.

Rossi heads into next weekend's Valencia decider with a seven point advantage over team-mate Lorenzo, but faces a difficult task to claim a tenth title if he starts from last on the grid.

But while Rossi is seeking "the annulment of the penalty, or at least a reduction from 3 points to 1" he only needs to delay the existing penalty to avoid starting last at Valencia.

As such, Rossi has also filed an "urgent application" for a "stay of execution of the decision". In other words, Rossi wants the three penalty points to be suspended while the CAS reaches its verdict. CAS expects to decide on whether this suspension will be granted by November 6, the date of Friday practice at Valencia.

Since Rossi's punishment involves penalty points rather than championship points, any decisions made by the CAS after the Valencia race are unlikely to have an impact on the 2015 title outcome.

For example if, after the season finale, the CAS upholds the three penalty points during its full judgement, Rossi would simply serve his last place start at the 2016 Qatar season opener (or whichever race followed the judgement).
The interesting thing is that if the CAS makes their decision AFTER Valencia, Rossi could start the race wherever he qualifies. Then, even if they decide against him, he wouldn't have to serve his penalty until the first race of next season.
We might get to see them fight it out after all.

I suppose there is a loophole in everything.

So, MM was penalized as well? I guess we never heard about that. Back to beating a dead horse, but that was clearly the fault of VR.

No kick...helicopter footage shows MM handlebar hit VR's leg and knocked it off the peg..

MM had no business around with Rossi given the fact that he had no chance at the championship...

MM is just a and I agree with Rossi when he says MM want Loren"tho" to win

I guess they should exclude everyone from the last race but J-Lo and if you follow that "logic"

I was wondering what all this was all about so I watched the videos in slow motion and MM helmet hit VRs leg first and he pushed it off as a reaction it appears to me. MM should have kept from running into his leg and he might have finished the race. It's not like he flat out grabbed his brake lever. So I think the appeal should be granted.

MM can race all he wants but it was obvious he was trying to hold up VR. No reason for him to risk VR's chance at a title if he has no shot at it.

1. Look at the lower left gif. Is that just a coincidence?
2. Rubbin is racin
3. VR broke the rules buy deliberately running MM wide which he admitted to in the post race interview with Dylan Gray during live coverage and in the meeting with race officials
4. MM broke no rules according to race officials
5. If MM really wanted to help J-Lo he wouldn't have passed him at the end of the last lap in Australia where the "trouble" in VR's mind started. After they crossed the finish line in Australia VR grabbed MM's hand to congratulate him and give him the thumbs up. Later in a press conference he came up with this conspiracy theory that MM was helping J-Lo win the championship. Maybe he thinks it's a Spanish thing because he never mentioned Iannone who was really with VR in Australia. In fact with less than 6 laps to go, Iannone blew by VR (2nd position) and MM (3rd position) in a single pass because VR was going so slow.
6. Without MM towing him around, VR finished way behind in 3rd place at Malaysia

Yeah, how did VR do without MM towing him around. He didn't do except finish way behind Pedrosa and J-Lo. His qualifying times are certainly no proof he's faster.

MM was having trouble with the bike's handling. Before the crash the announcers said it was due to the fuel load which MM confirmed. If VR can't leave another rider in a race, is he truly a champion?

Fact is, you have to race every race and be the last man standing with the most points. Through battles and everything. No one is going to move over and let you have it. It's "RACING" should have gone faster vr
