crazy things you hear about bikes

I was over at my old apartment the other day and my neighbor saw my new bike. he asked if i had done anything to fix it up and i told him no. he actually told me this... "you should put one of those chips on it." i said, what chips? he told me that "they have a chip in Europe, because the bikes are so de-tuned here, that if i put one on my bike will do 232 mph stock with just the chip. he kept going on on and told me that the chip puts the bike up to over 150 hp. i just thought this was kinda funny.

P.S. I tried putting a chip on it, i was doubtful that a tostito would help it and it blew away... should have gone doritos nacho cheese!! this is what i was thinking the whole time he was talking. I tried to reason with him but he just wasn't having it, he was convinced. who tells these people these things?!?

share some of the stuff you have heard about bikes in general, i read the one about the Yamaha R2 earlier and that reminded me of this

most bikes will rev to around 13-16K, it is mechanically impossible to go 232 on stock gearing regardless of Hp, tell them that.

I had a mechanic at a shop try to sell me a canada spec ignition box for a 600 I used to have. He said it would make it faster.
He made the mistake of letting me test it for a couple of days. I couldn't tell any difference. I figured if there was any gain at all it wasn't worth the asking price.

His friend is a convincing liar.

I hear in another post some one saying that their triumph was a V3. What a Moe-ron. The V would have to be 3D (in other words standard V with a third piston on the side going back to the same crank) to have three cylindars popping in a V configuration.

Exactly, that is a W configuration for sure. V only has 2 pistons. Is that thing a photochop job or a real bike?
