Really going to be surprised if a standard track day = a defensive driving course. Now, Ride Smart may have a special class that = DDC. Of course they're the ones to ask.

Was it a standard track day or a special track day?

RideSmart Does it. Get signed up and make sure you talk to Dave, Randy or your instructor before starting the day.

I can second that. I talked to Dave and Randy ahead of time. Attended all classroom sessions at a standard track day (my 1st in fact). Got a certificate and had to present it in front of a judge. It's their decision to accept it or not.

FAQ. 9. Can a motorcycle safety course be used for ticket dismissal?
Yes, you may take any Department-approved course listed on our website under Training Locations with prior court approval.

The law states that a judge may require you to successfully complete a driving safety course approved by the Texas Education Agency or a course under the motorcycle operator training and safety program approved by the designated state agency under Chapter 662, Transportation Code.

Texas Transportation Code
Select "Texas Statues" then "Code of Criminal Procedure"
45.0511 (Chapter 45 Justice and Municipal Courts, Article 45.0511 Driving Safety or Motorcycle Operator Course Dismissal Procedures)
