MSRH Oct 18 2015 Lvl 2 Ridesmart Playing in traffic

Level two traffic, the grid was full both days and made for two days of working on alternate lines. Was tough to put together any really solid laps. I got into some occasional 1:55s with clear track but mostly just above 2:00 minutes in traffic.

It can be just as difficult to get by a fast guy on a small bike as a slow guy on a big bike. On exit as I go to open the throttle and let it push the bike wide, you find yourself either having to pick a less than optimum line to get around a smaller bike on the line which kills your drive, or check up to see if they are going to drift wide or not before you can commit to going outside or inside which cost time and kills your drive.

Even on entry you loose time checking up early into the turn to give yourself enough space to carry speed through so you can get a good run on the point and shoot guys on big bikes. All part of the game I guess. I had a ball!

There are some who say it shouldn't matter with the bike I'm on. I say they should also remember at 245lbs plus without gear, I out weigh most of the grid by 40-120 pounds. So I don't have as big a power advantage as one might think, that and the EBR really prefers a corner speed style of riding as opposed to point and shoot.

Did you have your phone on you for the GPS laptimes? If so was it in your suit or mounted on your triple?
