Everyone's the winner. We all get a participation trophy. Normal people aren't supposed to be offensive to handicapped people. But I think it's OK for handicapped people to pick on other handicapped people. So carry on.
This is great. I've learned a lot.

And I have time to learn about the emoticons.....

The answer is obvious.

Just look at your avatar. Good that you sport a jacket and riding boots, but going bare skin will get you leg roasted on a lot of bikes, not just R1.

I have a 2013 R1 and I noticed it's a common issue on R1's
I have 2 other friends with same issue. I ride boots from now on because I lost skin one time wearing sneakers and ankle socks coming from Galveston in the summer. Never again!

Now I have more issue such as jerking in 1st gear and bike dies at idle

Had the same issue. But i was also roasting my pcv and autotune modules because of the intail exhaust. So during this week i gutted the cat and wrapped the y pipe up. I know it was cool today but a 40 mile trip to work and i could touch the pipes and subframe.

The cat was easy to remove, 3/8 drill bit and a long flathead screwdriver.

I'll look into wrapping it. First is to check and see if a deflector can be put in there someplace just to take the edge off.
I'm used to riding in cold. Hometown is near Green Bay. Coldest was 36 for an hour. Brrrr! But even in "cold" this is just WAY too hot on the leg. It doesn't really do anything for "warming me up".

I got rid of it all soon as I bought my R1. That under tail caused some heat.

The exhaust I mean lol. Got a shorty one
