Engine Surging

:confused1 I got a 2006 ZX-6r and i just installed a full M4 exhuast as well as a power commander. Now when my bike is warmed up to operating temp it surges 100-300 RPMS sounds like I have an aftermarket cam in it...is this normal?

My F4 does the same... it has a D&D slip on. However, it only does it when the fan has to kick on then it will surge about 300 rpm and then drop then rise, then drop...

My Hondy does it with a Jardine slip-on and a Powerful Commander with the Jardine slip-on mapping...

My guess is that the Powerful Commander does not adjust the mapping down around idle and you get the resulting surging. My bike, and yours too I imagine, runs great from 2K on up...

my kawi does it right before redline, but i think its a carb issue or fuel/air mix problem. Ill get it checked out in the off season.

Full system exhausts have a tendency to increase your idle revs. Totally normal, all my Yammies do it.

Full exhausts will change the way your bike idle's. I think it sounds pretty cool

Before my PC3 was installed the bike sounded very lopy sounding almost as if it had aftermarket cams installed, however after the install and the map that Motorcycles Unlimited made the bike was smoother all over, not to mention a noticeable difference in the lower to mid range. A dyno tune would net you the best results as it makes the bike more rideable especially since some many bikes from the factory run lean and rich in the wrong areas. Another thing was that my mileage went up by about 5 miles per tank.

Sounds like a mapping issue, but could be a couple of other things.
If you'd like, bring it by I can test drive it free of charge and give you my opinion.
