2013 Suzuki SFV650 valve adjustment

So I have about 7000 miles on the bike right now. The manual recommends a valve adjustment/check at 7500. My question is, how far out past 7500 can I go without damaging anything. A coworker and I are currently working on another bike which should be done in a few weeks and I want to wait to tear this one down so I'm not without a ride.

I've heard these engines are "bullet proof" but that seems like a relative term...

7500 miles seems really early - might be worth double checking that number. To answer your question, your bike is not going to blow up if you don't check the valves at exactly 7500 miles.

FWIW I just checked my zx10r at ~15,000 miles with multiple track days on it and they were all in spec. My honda with thousands of race miles on it from the previous owner had one clearance slightly out of spec when I checked.

Valves are not due till 15,000 per Suzuki.

Thanks, that makes sense. A guy I was riding with a while back got me worried about it. Good to know it's not going to blow up either
