Lookin for a general opinion....

Ok guys, I'm in the process of getting all my ducks in a row for my new business adventure. I'm looking for a little feedback from the board members, because this place is one that I would hope to see alot of people out there from.

My wife and I are in the beginning stages of starting an Icehouse/Resturant, which will be geared more towards the motorcycle crowd.

My question being, almost mainly for the stunt crowd....If this establishment was to go up, and have an oversized concrete parking lot, roped off for stunting, would the atmosphere and the fact that you can stunt, legally, with all your friends around, make it attractive for you....

Sounds great, just make sure to research your liability.
Possibly have everyone sign waivers?
Good luck on the new venture!

Well you know I would support it. Just tell your mother in law to make her 7 layer dip

But on the real..
Just like anything else....location location location!! But if you were to have a place for stunting, you must have the stunters sign a waiver and alcohol license are expensive.

Good luck on getting the info and getting it going bro

P.S. Do you even know how to cook :laughing6 JK

Jet and Yank......I'd be beer/wine only, and the stunt pad would be a waiver-signed deal only. We've been looking into alot of the stuff for a while now, and I think we're getting closer and closer to moving on it. Still looking for locations, but the way I have it figured, anywhere that is legal to go hang out with friends, grab a bite to eat, and watch some sick parking lot stunts, LEGALLY, would be well worth the 10-20 minute trip.

That's likely b/c they are the most frequently "started" businesses as well.

I'm sure he appreciates you pointing out the negative though. What would a post by you be if it wasn't negative?!?!? :laughing6

Depending on the side of town and how you went about setting things up, it could be pretty cool. Good luck with that!

If I were the business owner, I wouldn't do it. Waivers don't hold up in court. There's always loop holes that will find the business to blame. Besides, your biggest threat of lawsuit is not the stunters. It's the family that walks over to watch and gets blasted by a rider-less bike that will sue you for everything you've got. Just my $.02

Now, offering specials & the like to groups like stunters/racers/cruiser crowds/etc is probably a good idea...

Just to clarify....

The "Stunt Pad" would be bordered enough to where a ghostride gone bad wouldnt send a bike into the real parking lot, it would be bordered off enough to keep the bystanders safe.

And for the food side of things, it wouldnt be a resturant, so to say. It'd be more of a little grille at the Icehouse. Burgers, wings, fries, you know, just the fast and easy type stuff to snack on....yet still good enough to call dinner.

As far as the location goes, we're looking from Central to the NW side, but will be open to all reasonable spots. Trying to keep it within a 30 minute commute for most bikers.
