Free maintenence on a new bike?

When buying a new bike do most dealerships offer free oil changes and maintenence? Just asking out of curiosity since I've never bought a new bike in the states before.

they don't give anything away, if they do offer it, it is because they have already added it to the price.

you still paid for the helmet buddy, trust me...

no, 99.999% of dealerships wont give you anything free other than maybe a can of coke. when you buy a bike you can ussually negotiate on the price of the first service. granted, they will try to charge you just as much.

in my opinion, i would never take a bike to a dealer for general service. only exception would be warranty work, which must be done by a dealer. for routine maintenance i would go to a local garage or maybe a small shop with a very good reputation.

Dealers usually offer a "Priority Service" which includes all oil changes and tunes up for the life of the bike. It does cost about a $1000
