Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

After reading Patrick story I thought I would relay a story that happened to RADAR that is kindof in reverse.

Radar and Becky(his wife) were riding the mountains in Riudoso, NM when RADAR(Doug) passed a bunch of Harleys on his wing. Well he pulled into get gas and about 15 of them surrounded him at the pump. Then one guy got really vocal saying that he thought Doug made a unsafe pass. Doug said I hear what you are saying but I don't think it was. They guy kept saying it was and Doug kept disagreeing. The guy finally left because doug kept the gas nozle pointing it at the dude the whole time with the pump still running. I think the dude finally got the message that he was going to get doused if the dude or his friends tried something.

What even makes this more amusing is that Doug learned that trick from a movie and he hardly ever watches movies.

I think the point is that some people feel like they are special, super-big or whatnot on their bikes and it is more about attitude than actual motorcycling or riding.

In this case, it was definitely about attitude as he probably didn't know what the 'wave' meant, had paper tags and didn't have a clue about bikes. He'll be one of the guys we'll see in the news that failed to negotiate a turn...

If he makes it until then... , because giving the finger to a fellow motorcyclist can get him just as much in trouble. What if he does this to a woman with a weapon and with PMS? :laughing6

Keep riding that "imaginary" bike. I love mine also, my imaginary friend has a matching 636.

PHFFTT Real bike! Ha ha ha, that is the funniest thing. Should have told the guy, "it is made out of REAL aluminum and plastic and is REAL light and REAL fast compared to a Buell". Plus everyone knows that until Buell's new 1100cc sport bike comes out they are just jokes compared to standard super sports like our 636s. Not to mention, I hear they are mechanical nightmares.
PHFFTT Real bike!
What an ignorant pile of poo!

I don't care if someone returns the wave, sometimes I don't return it. I may be needing my clutch or just too busy turning or something and would rather ride safe than sorry.

I have had a few times to get a "real bike"
I then asked them "what's a real bike"?
real Expensive?
real loud?
real uncomfortable?
real unreliable?
real underpowered?
like that.

Over the last few yeard tho it has gotten better on attitudes tho,. I wave at everyone and 99% wave back. even on my busa and mohawk helmet.

Oh I forgot this one...

Blow them some kisses...usually they just motor off without even looking back. Well unless they prefer same relations...then you're screwed...maybe even literally!

To add to the post, I had a little talk with a cruiser guy at work today. 2000 Road King with JUST over 10k on it. I asked if he waved to sportbikes, and he got that 'look' on his face. Asked why he didn't wave, and what exactly was wrong with a different make of bike, but didn't get an answer. . . just a 'I have no idea' look. I then had to comment on the mileage. Asked why he owned the bike if he never rode it. After he asked how much he was supposed to ride it, I let him know I have 9,800 on my 06. . . and couldn't ride for a few months.

Not a very good storyteller, but it was fairly ammusing at the time.
